Owner Lauren Wojcik is a retired professional dancer turned entrepreneur and certified professional pet sitter (CPPS) who also works as a dog writer and dog training assistant. You can find her assisting classes for Shelby Semel Dog Training and read her articles here and here. She has been accepted into the Karen Pryor Academy and will start her coursework in the Spring of 2013. When not engaging in dog related activities Lauren likes to check out off-broadway shows, dine at as many Mario Batali restaurants as possible, and dig into a good book.
Career Goal: To create a center where positive trainers and holistic practitioners can work together.
Favorite Breed: Irish Setters, German Shepherds, and MUTTS
Best Part of the Job: Behavior Modification – I love watching positive changes happen in my dog’s lives!
Fun Fact: I left home when I was 11 to study at the National Ballet School of Canada
Dog Walker and Pet Sitter Cynthia Carr ran her own dog walking business at the age of 12 in her hometown of Bronxville, NY. A true animal lover, Cynthia is on her way to becoming a Veterinary Technician through LaGuardia College. When not caring for animals, Cynthia is known to cook a mean gourmet meal! She currently shares her home with her two cats Topper and Hilly.
Career Goal: To work as a Vet Tech and use my skills as a shelter volunteer
Favorite Breed: Pit bulls. I think they are gorgeous and so loving!
Best part of the Job: Seeing my dogs every day and spending time with them!! Whenever I have a bad day the moment I see the dogs my mood instantly changes.
Fun Fact: I was born in the Ukraine and was adopted and brought to the united states when I was three years old.
Dog Walker and Pet Sitter Alex Harris is a New York transplant who was born and raised in beautiful North Carolina. After finishing 2 years of college Alex decided to hone his writing and comedy skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater. As a true outdoorsmen and dog lover he had an empty space in his heart from leaving his dogs Omar and Sammy behind in NC. Alex has taken to the pavement with Lauren’s Leash to fill that void and spend quality time with the better canine species.
Career Goal: Screenwriting
Favorite Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Best part of the Job: Great dogs in the outdoors, what more could you want?!!!
Fun Fact: I’m a Certified Scuba Diver
Dog Walker and Pet Sitter Penny Ensley grew up a poor, black child (kind of) in the suburbs of New Jersey. After years of living and working in Manhattan she took an around-the-world trip which resulted in seeing forty-five countries in two years. She settled in Rwanda to work in the education sector, secure health care and educational opportunities for over two hundred at-risk Rwandan children, finance the building of a girls’ dormitory for a village boarding high school, and rehabilitate African dogs. She has returned to New York City and joined Lauren’s Leash to help care for the canines on this continent.
Career Goal: Nonprofit Super Hero and all around Imagination Liberator to the underprivileged/uninitiated

Best Part of the Job: …that there’s not a worst part of the job. It’s all the best.
Fun Fact: Penny speaks fluent Kinyarwanda and taught her puppy, Sammy Davis Jr., basic commands in both English and Kinyarwanda — Nibyo! (That’s right!)
Dog Walker and Pet Sitter Matt Harris (no relation to Alex Harris) moved from Oklahoma to put some excitement into his life. After working in retail Matt decided to get a job doing something he was passionate about: working with dogs! After leaving his two beloved furry
friends behind with his family he’s glad that Laurens Leash is helping him fill the void and pursue a career he loves.Career Goal: Dog/Animal behaviorist.
Favorite Breed(s): Labrador Retrievers and Border Collies.
Best part of the Job: Being outdoors and changing the lives of dogs and their families!
Fun Fact: Matt lived in Iceland for a few years.
