Start off on the right paw

Pre-Vaccination - Before your puppy is fully vaccinated, the poor thing can’t go outside. During this period, we will come in to change pads, feed him/her, provide fresh water, and have lots of loving play time. During this time we will also introduce your puppy to its leash and start leash training and basic obedience.

Leash Training - Leash training is done first inside and then outside. Let us teach your puppy how to correctly and safely walk on its leash. When taught early, good leash training will prevent your puppy from growing into a dog that pulls. We will teach you positive training techniques that will encourage your dog to walk calmly by your side.

Socialization - It’s important for young puppies to be introduced to everything possible, especially in an urban environment. A puppy’s imprint period is between 6-15 weeks. This is when he/she is most open to new people, animals, places, and situations. It is important to use positive reinforcement to introduce your puppy to New York and its inhabitants, rewarding only calm behavior.

Basic Obedience - Basic Obedience includes: Look At Me, Touch, Touch Target, Sit, Down, Handling, Problem Prevention (Separation Anxiety, Chewing, etc.), and Leash Training

House Breaking - Puppies are not able to “hold it” for more than (number of months old) + 1. This means if your puppy is 2 months old, she can only be left alone for 3 hours. My visits will relieve your puppy and start it on an early track to successful housebreaking.

All Access - Every day you will receive a progress report on your pup. This will include what we did, what progress we made, and exercises you can do to reinforce what he/she has learned! Puppy Pre-K comes with unlimited consultation. We are here to answer all questions, from “What kind of harness should I buy?” to “How do I get my puppy to stop chewing?”

Feeding/Watering - Puppies should be fed 3 times per day and given 8-9 water intakes per day. We will set up an appropriate schedule for optimum health and house breaking ease. Each session will include water and a meal.
